Biography
Dr. Taylan Akça graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry in 2004. After graduation he began specialty training in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Başkent University Faculty of Dentistry. During his training he completed rotations in the departments of Anaesthesiology and Reanimation, Otorhinolaryngology and Plastic Surgery at Başkent University Hospital.
He completed his doctoral thesis on "The Effectiveness of Antibiotic Prophylaxis in the Oral Tissues of Patients with Chronic Renal Failure" and in 2009 received the title of specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and doctor of science. He completed his military service as a specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Diyarbakır Military Hospital. He has continued his clinical work in Gayrettepe since 2010.
In his treatment approach he places importance not only on the surgical procedure being carried out technically, but on the correct indication, the assessment of alternative treatments, long-term care and the patient making a decision with an understanding of the treatment.
