Is gum bleeding normal?
Recurrent bleeding during regular, correct brushing can be a sign of gum inflammation. Stopping brushing to prevent bleeding does not solve the problem; the cause needs to be assessed.
Care around implants
Plaque-related inflammation can also develop around implants. Professional review of the implants and interdental cleaning suited to the individual are part of long-term care.
Frequently asked questions
Does scaling harm the teeth?
Professional cleaning carried out with a suitable technique is applied to remove tartar. After the procedure, existing root-surface sensitivity may be felt more, temporarily.
How many times a year is a cleaning needed?
There is no single fixed number. The check-up interval is determined by periodontal risk, the rate of deposit build-up, smoking, implants and personal care habits.
Does gum recession come back?
Depending on the cause and the type of defect there may be surgical or non-surgical options; not every recession returns to its former level on its own.
Can bad breath come from the gums?
Yes, periodontal diseases and plaque build-up are among the important causes; however, dry mouth and non-oral causes should also be assessed.
