Explaining treatment decisions in a way the patient can understand, discussing the alternatives, protecting personal health information and putting patient benefit ahead of commercial considerations are our core working principles.

Informed decisions

After the examination, we place importance on explaining the possible treatment options, the likely benefits and limitations of each option, how long it takes and the care it requires, and — after answering the patient's questions — on deciding together.

Patient benefit

We accept that not every treatment that is technically possible is necessary or right for every patient. Indication, risk, long-term care and the patient's expectations are considered together.

Privacy

Health data, clinical photographs and radiographic records are part of patient privacy. The necessary consent and anonymisation processes must be applied to any patient image used for education or communication.

Treatment methods and digital technologies change rapidly. We aim to review the currency of our content and our clinical processes periodically.
