International Patients

Akça Diş provides oral and dental health services to patients coming from abroad under the International Health Tourism Authorisation Certificate issued by the Turkish Ministry of Health. This page explains the scope of that service for information purposes. For patients living outside Turkey, the purpose of first contact is not to reach a final treatment decision. It is to organise the information you already have and to build a general picture of which options might be considered before you travel to Istanbul.

Scope of the service

A course of care under international health tourism usually involves the stages below. In every case the definitive diagnosis and treatment plan are established after a clinical examination, the necessary imaging and digital records; a preliminary assessment made remotely does not replace the clinical plan.

1. First contact

Tell us your main concern, any treatment you are currently having and what you are hoping for. If you have a recent panoramic X-ray or CBCT scan, you can send it. Intra-oral photographs can also help with an initial review.

2. Preliminary review

Based on the records you send, we can give general information about possible treatment options and roughly how many visits may be needed. Any plan given at this stage is not final; it may change after a clinical examination and, where needed, new imaging.

3. Travel planning

Whether the surgical and prosthetic stages can be completed within the same trip varies from case to case. With implant treatment in particular, a biological healing period or a second visit may be required. These possibilities should be discussed openly when travel plans are made.

4. Examination and the final plan in Istanbul

The final plan is drawn up after a clinical examination, the necessary imaging and digital records. There may be differences between a remote preliminary review and the clinical plan.

5. Post-treatment follow-up

After you return to your country, a photo or video check can be done where needed; however, remote follow-up does not replace a face-to-face examination. How often and where long-term check-ups should take place is explained at the end of treatment.
